Urine is usually lacking, except perhaps as a smear of oily appearance and smell of urine. What you describe is almost certainly dry precum, which can depend. You do not get an erection, which flows for some, and you will not even notice until you go for a pee, and it is a fall or a lot, or moist. You can also leak after sex either alone or in pairs - and even the loss of a few hours. You may think precum leak just about sex, then do something else, however, your body will still react and produce one or two drops. Really annoying, and I speak from experience only.
Probably precum - you do not need to be fully awake to produce it, I can sometimes.
I do not think it was dried urine, which tends to absorb, so that a yellowish hue.
